Vintage Crafted Wedding

Because I love all the pretty things, I want to share photos of a Vintage Crafted Wedding I helped decorate in May 2011.  This post showcases the use stamps in combination with various papers, tags & trims to add a vintage vibe to an outdoor wedding.   This was definitely one of the most favorite projects that I've ever collaborated on.

The bride requested that every table centerpiece be unique.  After scouting (or stalking) many thrift stores we were able to put together a collection of old books, jars & china to use on the tables.  The books were wrapped with brown craft paper & inked for a worn weathered look and old sewing pattern tissue took the place of ribbon.

Finding out where you were sitting was an interactive experience as each guest had to find their customized table number tag.  Made from two sizes of shipping tags, and scraps of paper, ribbon, and tissue we used a variety of stamps to make each one a piece of art.   We total creative freedom on this and it was really fun just to play with the designs & papers making each tag unique.

The table cards were hung with clothespins on a vintage wooden ladder wrapped with twine.  When it was full it looked a little like a beehive of craftiness.

The bride & groom chairs were adorned with burlap bows, rustic florals and their own customized tags.   Each attendant also had their own customized & hand crafted tag.

For a unique alternative to a guest book, large cards & tags were used for guests to write wishes to the happy couple and assembled into a one of a kind book of collected memories.

After all the vintage craftiness we had designed so far, I had challenged myself to create something beautiful to present as a wedding gift & keep the vintage vibe.  No plain white envelopes here.  I sewed a burlap envelope, adorned with lace & vintage details.  Then created a layered card to hold a gift card tucked inside.

The vintage vibe was perfect theme for an outdoor garden wedding.
